Safety & Use Guide

Safety & Use Guide

This guide provides general safety reminders for KJE tie down straps, ratchet straps, car trailer tie downs, lifting slings, tow straps and safety harness kits. Always follow the product page, product label, packaging instructions, applicable standards and job-site rules. When in doubt, stop use and contact KJE before proceeding.

Core Use Rules

  • Inspect webbing, stitching, hooks, ratchets, buckles, rings and other hardware before every use.
  • Do not use any product that is cut, frayed, melted, chemically damaged, deformed, heavily worn, missing labels or otherwise unsafe.
  • Use only the correct product type for the application. Tie down straps are for cargo securement; lifting slings are for suitable lifting/material-handling use; tow straps are for compatible towing/recovery assistance; safety harness kits must be used only with compatible fall-protection systems.
  • Confirm WLL, break strength, length, width, hook type and connection points before use.
  • Use proper edge protection, anchor points and hardware rated for the full load path.

Prohibited / Not Suitable Use Scenarios

  • Do not tie down sharp objects or run webbing over unprotected sharp edges. Sharp edges can cut webbing and cause sudden failure.
  • Do not exceed WLL. Never use break strength as the working load. WLL is the working limit and must not be exceeded.
  • Chemical environments are not suitable unless the product page or KJE written confirmation specifically states compatibility. Chemical exposure can weaken webbing, stitching and hardware.
  • Do not use damaged, soiled, worn, cut, frayed, melted or contaminated products.
  • Do not modify, knot, weld, drill, shorten, splice or otherwise alter the product.
  • Do not use any tie down or tow product for overhead lifting unless the product is specifically rated and marked for that lifting application.
  • Do not shock-load or side-load products beyond their intended application.

Before Purchase

Review the Buying Guide, product page specifications and FAQ. For B2B, wholesale or OEM projects, request written confirmation through Request a Quote.

Warranty Impact

Misuse, overload, sharp-edge damage, chemical exposure, modification, improper installation or use outside the intended application may void warranty coverage. See the Return & Refund Policy for after-sales details.
